Gary Neville, a former Manchester United defender, has chosen Manchester City striker Erling Haaland the Premier League Player of the Year.
This is following the player’s exploits this season that has seen him score over 50 goals in his very first campaign in the English top flight.
Haaland has scored 36 goals and provided seven assists in 34 appearances in the Premier League this season, becoming the quickest player to reach that figure in a season.
He has helped City to the final of the Champions League, the FA final and the Premier League trophy which they lifted last Sunday.
“It is the first time that the Premier League has signed a player who is going to be the best in the world or is already at that level.
“They go to Real Madrid, they go to Barcelona, in recent years they have gone to Paris Saint-Germain. They do not go to the Premier League. We have grown the best players in the world,” he said.
